In 1997, she had her acting debut at age 13. In 1997, Vandervoort made her debut as an actress at the age of 13. Following a variety of courses as well as background work on Canadian shows like Road to Avonlea or Harriet the Spy she landed her acting role as a speaker in the Canadian kids horror anthology Goosebumps. Alongside commercials, she also appeared in and guest appearances in films like Mutant X and Prom Queen: The Marc Hall Story. Goosebumps was also part of her career. Two years later, Vandervoort starred in her first feature film called The Lookout alongside Jeff Daniels, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Matthew Goode, and Isla Fisher. Other television roles like CSI: Crime Scene Investigation brought Vandervoort to play Clark Kent's Kryptonian cousin "Kara Kent" (the person who is destined to later become Supergirl) for The CW serial-drama Smallville. In the seasons 7 and 8 were as a season regular, "Bloodline". The show returned to Smallville for two more episodes in the finale season, which was also her 10th season. [4] Following The CW and Smallville, Vandervoort filmed the sequel of the film Into the Blue titled Into the Blue 2: The Reef. The Jazzman was her next independent film. The film also starred Canadian performers Michael Ironside and Corey Sevier.
